Little Black Boots

Hello,
A few days ago I scuffed a pair of very cheap black faux suede boots I bought from H&M recently and decided i needed to invest in a pair a little bit more expensive. When I say expensive they were only £30.00 and i am completly in love with these ankle boots which i got from H&M.

I love the contrast between the black leather effect and the wooden heel and i must say although for everyday use my inital reaction was that they were to high i was mistaken. On saturday i wore them all day to Cardiff and we walked Queen Street and St David's 2 alot before i got the dreaded burning on the balls of my feet.
I Have put insoles in them to make them a little comfy and i think the little gold detailing on the side is real cute. so far i have worn them with dresses and skinny jeans and i think i may just have found my winter boots.

Dress: Ebay
Jacket and Boots: H&M
Tight, Earings and Ring: Primark
Bangles: Newlook

H&M have become my one stop shop at the moment I love the variety of clothes they've got in at the moment and the prices are so good im going to go as far as saying it's my favourite shop at the moment.

Do you have a favourite shop?

Sparkle Nails

Hello,
One day last week a friend on Facebook posted a picture of a very sparkly nail. I was instantly jealous. I love nail varnish and i love anything that sparkles, so i messaged her to see how she done it. 10 minutes later i had a reply saying it was GOSH nail glitters which can be bought from Superdrug.
Yesterday when i popped to town my first stop was Superdrug. They have the nail glitters in i think about 5 colours and they're quite cheap at £4.99. They come in a nice little pot and it's very easy to do.

1) Paint nail in clear nail varnish (i use maybelline forever strong pro)

2) Before it dries dip your nail in the pot of Nail Glitters (make sure all of nail is covered)

3) Using a small brush (i used a old eyeshadow brush) brush off the excess glitter.

It is that simple.
It looks really nice and i thought that if i put a top layer of clear on them it might make them last longer. I dont think this will actually happen though and i think they are only meant to be done like this for a night out.
They do lok lovely though and i will probably be doing them with this for London on the weekend.

What I Wore

Last night myself and my family went out for a meal to celebrate Dean's 40th Birthday. It was really a lovely night in a really traditional pub in Caerphilly called the Pontygwindy. The food was amazing for the price and it was nice to have some of us all togther without being totally drunk (mainly me).
I knew what i was wearing without thinking about it. I bought this dress from ASOS in the summer sale and have only worn it once. I love how loose it hangs, recently i've gained abit of weight but this just skimmed over everything which i just loved and the length is perfect for me. Everyone commented on the collar of this dress as well. It's got a pretty beaded collar which i think gives it that jazz which is just enough for a celebration like this one. I teamed it with black platforms i had from Primark back in March which have never failed me everytime i've worn them, they are really comfy which isnt always the case with cheap shoes they cost about £18.00 i think. The blazer is also a buy from March time (when i was following a certain band on tour), i must say though this blazer has been amazing i wear it at least twice a week and i feel i ant go wrong with it. Work or Play it's a must in my wardrobe, i may need to invest in a new one soon though it is getting a bit scabby. As for the jewelery it's just bits i've picked up over the years, Newlook, Primark even Selfridges i think.
Tonight im going out for a meal again, this time to celebrate my friends engagement. I cant wait to see her ring and hear how he proposed i know it's going to be a gushy story and we'll all be in floods of tears. It will be so nice to see the girls tonight. really looking forward to it.
Tomorrow is my last day of my summer holiday to back to work on the weekend so im just browsing for a holiday during november (my next time off) trying to decide between a paris city break or a Gran Canaria beach holiday. Decisions, Decisions.

Oh what a Night

On Saturday my uncle Dean had a 40th Birthday Party. It was real nice to be with all my family and have a good night of catch ups and of course a drink!  On my twitter i posted a few photos from the later part of the night but heres a few from the start.

After a melt down on what to wear i decided on this:
Dress: Asos
Jacket: Miss Selfridge
Shoes: New Look
Earings and Cuff: Primark

I didnt know what to get Dean for his birthday and so offered to buy his cake he loved the gesture and decided he wanted to carry the black and silver theme across to the cake. I havent got a photo of the sides but there was a silver wave going all the way around. He didnt want anything fussy and i think this is exactly right for what Dean wanted.
Dean looked lush and dont look a day over 30 IMO.
This is a favourite of mine, Rhi (my bestie) is like Dean's 3rd niece. We had a fab time and this just proves it!

Ashleigh bought the shots!

Get their grove on Rhi and Tom!

It was an amazing night and this is just a handful of pictures. The food, artist and DJ were all fab. It was nice to spend time with not only family but friends to and watching Mum and Dad let their hair down was kind of immense.
Dean really did have a party to remeber!

Shopaholic

People who follow me on Twitter know i kinda love shopping, It's my favourite hobby! Today I had to pop into MAC for some new foundation and thought it'd be rude not to have a flick around the sales rails.
After picking up my foundation (sample) and lighter concelear my first stop was Primark i picked up 2 stretch vest tops for a fablatastic price of just £2.00 each (only want them for under tops) and then my eyes landed on these babys:
Now i know i dont need anymore shoes (especially brown ones) but these were just £6.00 and i dont have a pair in this shade. Not only that but they have a platform and chunky heel which means they'll be very comfy! And i think (so i keep telling myself) i'll wear them with everything from denim shorts to jeans and dresses.

My favourite brand from ASOS is Vero Moda and even though theres a store in Cardiff for some reason i never go in there. However, Today as i walked past a simple pinafore denim dress caught my eye and i popped in. I didnt go for that particular item in the end though as it seemed to simular to one i bought from New Look a few weeks ago but i couldnt resist these:

Just £10.00 each i thought they were pretty good bargains. The dress will be fab for work with tights and heels but will also look amazing with flip flops and oversized shades for the rest of summer. The top just looks fab with skinny jeans and leggings and already its waiting patiently to be worn tomorrow with heels. I love the pattern it reminds me of a dress i bought last summer from New Look which i found difficult to part with but had to when it started to fray. It's so summery and with the weather as warm as it is it works so well.

My only problem is i vowed that i wouldnt buy clothes this month (this only lasted one day) but i couldnt resist.

What do you guys think? you had any bargains in the sales?

What I Wore 28.6.2011

Dress - Primark
Belt - Newlook
Flipflops - Primark
Bag - Matalan
Waistcoat- Newlook
Sunglasses - H&M

Last year i bought this dress from Primark. I wasnt to sure about it at first but by the end of summer i felt that nearly every photo i had taken during the summer i was wearing it.
Today when the sun peaked through my blinds at 6:15am i knew exactly what i was going to wear for my dreaded trip to the dentist and doctors. Theres just something about this dress that i love. I wear it with workman boots and flipflops and love that i can wear it with a belt and without. It was one of those buys that worked well and it wont be leaving my wardrobe anytime soon.

Rain, Sun, Rain

Hello Everyone.
How hot has it been recently? Sunday was beautiful but after a walk around my local nature park i felt a little ill and was stuck inside for the afternoon. So i made plans to hit the beach yesterday. I was up early, made a gorgeous picnic (filled with fruit and salad) and packed my bikini, kafatan (i always wear a trusted kafatan) and my jelly sandals (got to have paddle). I also made sure i had suncream and a few magazines and my book. By 11am we were on our way.
The drive to the beach was looking good. Shades on some Jessie J and Ollie Murs playing, the windows were down. Perfect summer day? Yeah Right!
Just as we pulled up in Porthcawl the heavens opened! devastated i pulled up on the sea front and  after 20 minutes i realised it wasnt going to stop. So we ate our picnic in my little C2 and drove back home. Im not the type of person to worry about a bit of rain and usually walk around the seaside town if it's a little damp but yesterday it poured! We couldnt get out of the car!

The highlight of my day was stopping off at Costa on the way home. Skinny Latte please!

Fit for a King

As many of you probably know last Friday (10th June) I finally got to see Hampton Court Palace. I was very excited about going and was up early and on my way by 9am. It was my first time driving that close to London and although i was nervous i got to Hampton Court easily and in just 3 hours! (result).
After a quick drop off of our bags in the Mitre Hotel (which was directly opposite the palace) I finally got to head into the stunning grounds of a building i had been trying to get to since i was young.
Before we headed into the Palace we decided it was a good time for food and with that we found a little spot under a massive tree to enjoy our picnic in the gardens, the smell of the flowers with such a beautiful building behind us as well as the sun made our lunch very relaxed.
Lunch was amazing with this view

Entrance to the Palace was just £16.95 (including a 10% contribution) and i must admit compared to the historic places around my area it is expensive but for London and what you get to see for the money it is totally worth it.
We entered the Palace through the Henry viii kitchens as the usual start point for tour was blocked off due to the concert being held in the court yard. The whole building has such an elegant feel and this was portrayed even in the kitchens which apparently fed up to 1200 people a day!
As i moved around such an amazing place i must say i was probably acting a little 'tourist like' as my bestie would say. There was a lot of 'oh wows' and 'look at this' and 'it's so amazing' much to her amusement but i didnt and still dont really care. The Palace has played such a massive role in british history and it felt good to be able to finally wander around it.
The appartments are filled with some stunning art work as well as beautiful furniture (some originals) and with the high ceilings and tall windows it was only understandable why the palace was so desired by historical figures.

By the time we had wandered around the rooms we didnt leave ourselves much time to see the Henry Viii appartments. Fortunatly we did get to go around the rooms it was just we didnt have as much time as we would have liked to have had. Again these particular rooms didnt fail to impress and the corridor which is said to have Catherine Howard haunt it was quite eerie.

Just a fire surround
After the Palace we had a quick change and headed for pizza before heading back to the Palace for the concert and although it poured down 20 minutes before Westlife came on stage we were lucky that for the majority of the concert it stayed dry. I've been to a few places this year to see the band and i must say that Hampton Court Palace was defo my favourite. It was very intimate and the 4 lads were on top form and with it all being held in court yard made the experience very different.

Some Photos from the concert

A little bored waiting

The day after we went into London city centre. It was boiling and we got to see the tropping of the colours!

25 Years

Yesterday was my Mum and Dads 25th Wedding anniversary. Since Saturday we've been celebrating but last night i must say was my favourite. I arranged a little get together for the family. Decorated the kitchen and lounge and i'm pleased to say that my Mum and Dad loved it. After 4 hours of cooking I was then able to let my hair down and have a few vodkas before being introduced to baileys and milk (how come i'm 24 and only now i've found this tipple) my head did hurt this morning though.

Heres some pictures:
